♞ —“… You again.” The faintest mutter fell from pale, thin lips as Levi glanced towards the young female. He had seen her face several times before: the last of the Orientals, the top of her class, and also… “Eren’s close friend… What do you want?”

Walking aimlessly. That was something she was not quite accustomed to. It shouldn’t have been this hard to try to find things to busy herself with– or at least distract herself in some form. And yet, with a day’s worth of training completed and the more minor tasks handed out to the newer recruits done and over with like a breeze to her, there wasn’t much left to occupy herself from her own thoughts. Her own contemplative, yet mildly disconcerted deliberation.

–A low voice filters in her hearing, pulling her from her brooding and back to reality. A fleeting moment, she paused, realizing that she’d wandered a bit too close to the offices– this certainly didn’t look like the spacious foyer she’d been stationed at prior, after all. And if that wasn’t enough, it didn’t take a genius to conclude that the speaker was none other than the Captain himself. A slight frown seemed to tug at the corners of her mouth.

Calmly, dark irises shifted sideways, casting a more attentive glance to her superior’s direction– and lips part slightly to speak, only to find herself unsure of how to answer. She easily composed herself, however; turning to fully face the other, a hand lifted up to her chest, giving him a brief salute before reaching further to grasp her scarf, a subconscious action out of habit.

“… Nothing in particular… sir,” she paused, dismissing the urge to point out his mention of her adoptive brother. “–Ah. Actually… I’d like to be assigned to some work, if possible.”
